Almond Crusted Walleye

Ingredients

  • 4 oz walleye filets
  • ¼ cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 large egg
  • ¼ cup milk
  • ½ cup almonds roughly chopped, sliced
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Get out and measure your ingredients.
  2. Preheat oven to 350ºF.
  3. In one shallow bowl, combine flour, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. In another shallow bowl, whisk egg and milk together.
  5. In a third bowl, combine almonds and breadcrumbs.
  6. Now you have your workstation ready.
  7. Coat each walleye filet in the flour mixture. Shake off excess.
  8. Then dredge it in the egg mixture.
  9. Next, cover it in the almond breadcrumb blend.
  10. Place breaded filets in a greased baking dish.
  11. Bake for 30 minutes or until internal temperature of filets reach 140ºF. Serve.

Notes

  • To Pan Fry - Over medium heat, melt ¼ cup butter. Add fillets to hot butter and fry for 2 to 3 minutes per side, depending on the thickness of your fillets. Use a spatula to carefully flip so coating remains in tact.
