Amaretto Bourbon Punch

Amaretto Bourbon Punch blends bourbon, ginger ale, amaretto, and several fruit juices to create a balanced, lightly sweetened cocktail. The mix of lime and orange juices adds brightness, while the splash of maraschino cherry juice and garnishes give a subtle fruity complexity. Served over crushed ice with cherries and orange slices, it offers a refreshing texture and festive presentation suitable for gatherings or casual sipping.

Description

Amaretto Bourbon Punch is a composed cocktail that highlights bourbon and amaretto liqueur as the central spirits, balanced by ginger ale and citrus juices including fresh lime and orange. The addition of simple syrup allows control over sweetness, while maraschino cherry juice adds a hint of cherry flavor and a rosy color component. The drink is served chilled over crushed ice, with garnishes of cherries and orange slices enhancing its visual appeal and complementing the flavor profile.

The method involves stirring the ingredients together to evenly distribute the flavors, then adjusting sweetness according to taste preference. Pouring the punch over crushed ice ensures a refreshing drink with a slightly diluted effect over time. The garnish of maraschino cherries and orange slices adds a traditional touch and invites a slight aroma that frames the cocktail.

This punch works well for social occasions where an easy-to-serve, sparkling cocktail is desired. It provides a mix of smooth bourbon warmth with fruity and citrus notes, making it appropriate for both fall and spring gatherings.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 2 cups bourbon
  • 2 cups ginger ale
  • 1 cup amaretto
  • 1 cup simple syrup
  • 1 cup lime juice fresh
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup maraschino cherry juice plus extra for the glasses
  • maraschino cherry for topping
  • orange juice for garnish

Instructions

  1. Combine the bourbon, ginger ale, amaretto, simple syrup, lime juice, orange juice and cherry juice together and stir. (At this point I would taste and adjust for any sweetness – you might want more amaretto, more bourbon or more syrup depending on your preferences!)
  2. Fill a glass with crushed ice and add a few drops of cherry juice. Pour the punch over the ice and garnish with cherries and orange slices!
  3. Note: simple syrup is equal parts water and sugar. 1 cup water + 1 cup sugar heated until boiling, whisk until the sugar dissolves, and let cool to room temp!
