  • 1 lb carrot or Whole Carrots sliced to 2 inch chunks, baby
  • 1 cup water
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Add water to the instant pot insert. Place the steamer basket in the instant pot insert. 
  2. Spread the carrots on the steamer basket. Close lid with vent in sealing position. 
  3. Start the instant pot and set it on Steam mode for 2 minutes on high pressure. (Note: if you like softer carrots, increase cooking time to 3 minutes)
  4. When the instant pot beeps, quick release the pressure manually. Remove the steamer basket carefully as it is hot. 
  5. Season with salt, pepper and enjoy.

Notes

  • When steaming whole carrots, adjust time based on thickness; thinner carrots may need only 2 minutes, thicker ones up to 3 minutes.
  • Doubling or tripling the carrot quantity does not require increasing cooking time, as long as carrots fit in the steamer basket.
  • Use salt and pepper to taste after steaming to preserve carrot flavor and texture.
