Ambrosia Fruit Salad

Ambrosia Fruit Salad combines mixed canned and fresh fruits such as fruit cocktail, pineapple, grapes, and apple with pecans or optional nuts, sweetened shredded coconut, miniature marshmallows, and creamy vanilla yogurt. The mixture delivers a sweet and slightly textured fruit salad that balances creamy, crunchy, and chewy elements. It is typically served chilled as a dessert or side dish.

Description

This Ambrosia Fruit Salad recipe includes a mix of drained canned fruits and fresh fruit pieces combined with creamy vanilla yogurt, shredded coconut, miniature marshmallows, and chopped nuts for texture contrast. The salad’s sweetness comes from the fruits and marshmallows, with the yogurt adding creaminess and moisture binding the ingredients together. It is simply tossed and kept chilled before serving.

The salad is versatile as a dessert or a refreshing accompaniment to meals. It can be easily adapted according to available fruits and nuts, making it flexible for different tastes and seasons.

Variations include substituting sour cream for yogurt and using any combination of fruit cocktail, pineapple, mandarin oranges, or different nuts such as almonds and walnuts. Seedless grapes, either green or red, can be used interchangeably to complement the mix.
