Ingredients

Servings
  • ½ lemon for rim, wedge
  • sanding sugar for rim, golden
  • ½ cup ice cubes for cocktail shaker
  • ¼ cup pomegranate juice
  • ¼ cup apple cider
  • oz vodka for cocktail only
  • ½ oz Chambord liqueur or grenadine, for mocktail
  • ¼ tsp Luster dust edible, rainbow
  • dry ice optional

Instructions

  1. Rim the martini glass with the lemon juice from the wedge and the golden sanding sugar. Set aside.
  2. Place the ice cubes, cider, juice, vodka and liqueur (if using), and luster dust into the cocktail shaker and shake for 30 seconds.
  3. Strain the drink into the prepared martini glass and place a small chunk of dry ice for the amortentia effect. Let the dry ice evaporate completely before drinking.

Notes

  • Just keep out the alcohol, use grenadine instead of the Chambord or a raspberry simple syrup!
  • Dry Ice can usually be found at big chain grocery stores like Harris Teeter, Kroger, Walmart, etc. Call before just running to the store, not every store has it.
  • When using dry ice never and I mean never touch it with your bare skin or with any orifice or membranes like your mouth or tongue.
  • Always use tongs to move it around, and use it in well ventilated spaces. Living room? ok. spooky closet or old unventilated cabin? I don't suggest it.
  • Dry ice needs to be so cold it will evaporate in your freezer so you'll have to get it the day of usage, preferably up to a few hours before serving. This stuff is so cold it doesn't even have a liquid state, it just evaporates!
