Apple Cider Vinegar Dressing
Description
This Apple Cider Vinegar Dressing blends tart apple cider vinegar with natural sweetness from maple syrup or honey. Freshly grated garlic adds pungency, while Dijon mustard acts as an emulsifier and provides mild sharpness. Sea salt seasons the dressing, and freshly ground black pepper offers a mild heat. Extra-virgin olive oil is whisked or shaken in to create a smooth, emulsified vinaigrette that coats salads evenly.
The balance of acidity and sweetness makes it suitable for leafy green salads, roasted vegetables, or as a marinade. The garlic flavor is present but not overpowering, and the mustard ensures the oil and vinegar do not separate quickly.
Ingredients
- ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon maple syrup or honey
- 1 garlic grated, clove
- ¼ teaspoon Dijon mustard
- ¼ teaspoon salt sea salt
- black pepper freshly ground
- ¼ cup extra-virgin olive oil
Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk together the apple cider vinegar, maple syrup, garlic, mustard, salt, and several grinds of pepper.
- Drizzle in the olive oil while whisking and continue to whisk until the dressing is emulsified. Alternatively, combine everything in a jar with a tight-fitting lid and shake to combine.
