Apple Cranberry Crisp
Description
This recipe starts by tossing peeled and sliced Granny Smith apples with cranberries, brown sugar, lemon juice, and cinnamon to create a tart and spiced fruit base. The mixture is transferred to a greased baking dish.
The crisp topping is prepared by pulsing cold cubed butter with brown sugar, flour, and a pinch of salt until crumbly, then sprinkled evenly over the fruit layer. Baking the dish at 375°F for 30 to 35 minutes creates a golden-brown crust that contrasts with the soft, juicy fruit beneath.
The crisp delivers a textured experience with the cinnamon-spiced fruit filling complemented by the buttery and slightly crunchy topping. It serves well as a warm dessert on its own or with ice cream or whipped cream.
