Apple Orange Salad

This fresh fruit salad combines chopped apples and orange pieces with raisins, pecans, and a bright dressing made from olive oil, red wine vinegar, and orange juice. The mix of sweet and tart flavors is balanced by a pinch of salt and pepper, and the nuts add a satisfying crunch. It's a simple, vibrant salad that can be served immediately or chilled briefly to meld the flavors.

Description

Apple Orange Salad brings together sweet-tart apples and juicy orange pieces combined with chewy raisins and crunchy pecans or walnuts. The dressing combines olive oil, red wine vinegar, and fresh orange juice, providing a citrusy tang that complements the fruit. Seasoning with salt and black pepper adjusts the flavor balance. The dressing also helps meld the components without overpowering the fresh fruit notes.

This salad is tossed gently before serving to ensure even coating and can be served as a light side dish or a refreshing accompaniment to meals. Preparing it shortly before serving preserves the crisp textures of the apples and pecans.

Including a sprinkle of warm spices like cinnamon or nutmeg is an optional way to add depth and seasonal character. Refrigerating the salad up to two hours works well for flavor blending without sacrificing texture.
