Apple Pie Baked Oatmeal
Description
Apple Pie Baked Oatmeal starts with sauteded peeled and sliced apples softened with cinnamon and brown sugar to mimic classic pie flavors. These apples are combined with a mix of old-fashioned oats, vanilla protein powder, and baking powder, then moistened with eggs, skim milk, and melted butter. Once baked, the oatmeal slices hold together and feature a tender, slightly chewy texture. The vanilla Greek yogurt topping offers a cooling, tangy complement that enhances the apple and cinnamon notes.
The warmth of the oats and spiced apples makes this recipe suitable for a cozy morning meal or a wholesome snack. It can be cut into six equal servings, making portion control straightforward. The combination of oats and protein powder provides sustained energy and satiation.
No special storage or reheating instructions are noted, but cooling the bake before cutting will ensure cleaner slices. Using vanilla protein powder rather than plain helps reinforce the baked apple dessert profile.
