Applesauce Muffins

This yummy and easy Applesauce Muffins Recipe is a fantastic family snack. These muffins are flavored with applesauce and dipped in cinnamon sugar after baking for a tasty treat!

Ingredients

Servings
  • ½ cup butter 1 stick, softened
  • ½ cup sugar granulated white
  • 2 egg large
  • ¾ cups applesauce
  • 1 ¾ cups flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Optional Topping:

  • ¼ cup butter melted
  • ½ cup sugar granulated white
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

Get prepped

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Sift the flour, baking powder and salt together.
  3. Line a 12-hole muffin tin with paper liners
  4. Melt the butter and mix the sugar and cinnamon together for the topping

Make the muffin batter

  1. In a stand mixer, or in a large bowl with handheld mixer, cream the butter and sugar until pale and creamy.
  2. Beat in the eggs, one at a time.
  3. Add applesauce and mix until well blended.
  4. Fold in the sifted dry ingredients, until just combined.

Scoop and bake

  1. Using a large cookie scoop, divide the batter evenly into muffin tins and bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown.
  2. Remove from the oven and cool 5 minutes.

Dip the muffins in cinnamon sugar

  1. While the muffins are still warm. dip in melted butter and then in cinnamon sugar mixture.

Notes

  • This applesauce muffin recipe does well as mini muffins. Check your muffins in half the usual cooking time, as they'll cook faster than full sized muffins.
  • What to do with leftovers
  • Line an airtight container with paper towels, and place your muffins inside in a single layer. Place the lid on and seal. These muffins will keep for a few days.
  • Substitutions/Additions
  • You can opt to use have all purpose flour and half whole wheat flour if you wish.
  • Add a little Pumpkin Pie Spice to your muffins for an extra kick of Fall flavor!
