Arby’s Sauce

Arby’s Sauce is a tangy and slightly sweet condiment featuring ketchup, brown sugar, vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce blended with spices like garlic and onion powder, paprika, and cayenne. Simmering thickens the sauce while blending the flavors, resulting in a smooth sauce similar in thickness to steak sauce. It complements burgers, pastrami, or hot wings by adding a flavorful, balanced kick.

Description

This homemade Arby’s Sauce combines base ingredients like ketchup and brown sugar with white vinegar and Worcestershire sauce, incorporating savory spice elements of onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, and a touch of cayenne for mild heat. Blending these ingredients with water creates a uniform mixture that simmers gently to meld the flavors.

Adding a cornstarch slurry thickens the sauce to a consistency reminiscent of classic steak sauce, providing body that clings well to foods. The slow simmer after thickening ensures a smooth texture and fully developed taste.

This sauce works as a versatile accompaniment for hamburgers, pastrami sandwiches, or chicken wings, contributing sweet, tangy, and smoky notes. It is stored refrigerated to maintain freshness and can be served chilled or at room temperature.
