Artichoke Dip Recipe

This Artichoke Dip blends chopped artichoke hearts, mayonnaise, cream cheese, mozzarella, and Parmesan with garlic and lemon zest, creating a creamy, baked appetizer. It develops a golden, bubbly top layer from baking in the oven, offering a rich and savory taste balanced by a hint of lemon. This dip pairs well with crackers, bread, or veggies and serves as a comforting starter or party snack. The combination of cheeses and garlic produces a thick, spreadable texture that holds up well for dipping.

Description

Artichoke Dip Recipe uses drained, chopped artichoke hearts mixed with a creamy base of mayonnaise and cream cheese to create a rich foundation. Mozzarella and Parmesan add melty, savory depth, while fresh garlic and lemon zest provide aromatic brightness. The mixture is spread into a baking dish and topped with extra Parmesan before baking until bubbly and golden brown. Baking melds the flavors and gives the dip a slightly crispy top with a warm, creamy center. It can be served hot with a variety of dippers like crackers, toasted bread, or vegetable sticks. This recipe balances richness and acidity, delivering a satisfying texture that's both smooth and chunky from the artichokes. It is suitable for preparing ahead and reheating, making it convenient for gatherings.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 1 can artichoke hearts 14 ounce, drained
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 8 ounce cream cheese softened
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 4 cloves garlic pressed
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ cup Parmesan Cheese divided

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Chop artichoke hearts into small, diced pieces. In a mixing bowl, combine artichokes, mayonnaise, cream cheese, mozzarella, garlic, lemon zest, salt and pepper, and 1/4 cup parmesan cheese.
  3. Once everything is well blended, spread in an 8-inch baking dish (or a 10 inch cast iron skillet). Sprinkle remaining 1/4 cup parmesan cheese over top of dip.
  4. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until bubbly and browned. ENJOY.

Notes

  • Store leftover dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
  • Leftover dip can be frozen for up to 30 days; thaw overnight in the refrigerator before reheating.
  • Using low-fat mayonnaise and cream cheese lowers the fat content but will affect the creaminess.
  • Serve warm with crackers, bread, or vegetables for dipping.
