Asian Lettuce Wraps
Report
Fresh lettuce leaves wrapped with ground turkey seasoned with hoisin sauce, ginger, soy sauce, and water chestnuts. Add peanuts, and extra vegetables, and then eat it like a mini burrito. Serve as an appetizer or main dish

Ingredients
- 12-16 Bibb or butter lettuce leaves washed and dried
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 large onion diced
- 3 cloves of fresh garlic minced
- 1 tablespoon reduced salt soy sauce
- 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
- 2 teaspoons fresh ginger minced
- 1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
- 2 teaspoons seasame oil
- 1 8 ounce can water chestnuts, drained and choped
- Extra vegetables: carrot matchsticks fresh mint, peanuts, bean sprouts.
Instructions
- In a medium skillet, over medium-high heat, brown the turkey in 1 tablespoon of olive oil crumbling meat while cooking. Drain any extra water or oil from the meat and set cooked meat aside.
- Add onion to the skillet and cook until fragrant and translucent. Add garlic to onion mixture, cooking for one minute.
- Return meat to the pan with the onion and garlic, then add soy sauce, hoisin sauce, ginger, rice wine vinegar, sesame oil. Mix thoroughly.
- Add chestnuts and green onion cooking just until the onions begin to wilt.
- Serve in a bowl with a platter of lettuce, bean sprouts, carrots, and mint leaves.
Notes
- Ground beef, chicken or pork can be used instead of ground turkey.
