Avocado Burger
Description
To make the Avocado Burger, beef patties are cooked in a skillet with olive oil until golden brown, then topped with cheddar cheese and covered briefly to melt. Meanwhile, ripe avocado is mashed with lemon juice, garlic powder, and salt to form a smooth, tangy spread. The burger is assembled on a brioche bun, layering sauce (mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, or barbecue sauce to taste), lettuce leaves, the cheesy beef patty, thinly sliced red onion, crispy bacon slices, and a generous spoonful of the mashed avocado mixture.
The blend of juicy beef and melted cheese contrasts with the freshness of the avocado and the crunch of the bacon and onions. The brioche bun adds a slightly sweet and soft texture that complements the savory fillings. This combination offers balanced flavors and textures in each bite.
Burgers can also be cooked on a grill or in an air fryer following the appropriate timing. The recipe allows for adjustment of condiments according to preference. The mashed avocado contributes moisture and richness in place of traditional burger toppings like slices of tomato or pickles.

Instructions
- In a cast iron skillet with some olive oil on it, add 4 burger patties. Cook them for around 4 to 6 minutes per side, depending on the thickness and size of your burgers. Add an extra minute if they were frozen. Set aside.
- Add 1 slice of cheese to each burger and melt, cover with a skillet lid and melt cheese for 1-2 minutes. Set aside the patties.
- In a bowl, mash together the avocado, lemon juice, garlic powder, and salt.
- Assemble the burgers by spreading your sauce of choice on the bottom bun, then place the lettuce, burger patties, onions, bacon, and spoon the mashed avocado on top. Finish with the top bun.
Notes
- Burgers can be cooked in an air fryer following cook times similar to those for frozen patties.
- Grilling the patties is an option, cooking about 3 to 5 minutes per side depending on thickness.
