Avocado Salsa Recipe

Super addictive Avocado Salsa is quick and easy to throw together with a delicious, zesty cilantro lime dressing! A quick flavour-packed recipe.

AVOCADO SALSA

  • 1 onion chopped
  • 4 avocado ripe, peeled, cored and diced
  • 4 medium tomato seeded and diced, vine-ripened
  • 1 jalapeno pepper seeded and chopped
  • ¼ cup cilantro finely chopped, fresh leaves

DRESSING

  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • ¼ cup lime juice fresh
  • 2 cloves garlic crushed
  • ½ teaspoon cumin ground
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper ground
  • 2 tablespoons cilantro finely chopped, fresh

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, cover onion with cool water to mellow it (remove the harsh bite out). Let sit for at least ten minutes, stirring once or twice, while preparing the rest of your ingredients.
  2. Drain onion. Add to a mixing bowl with diced avocados, tomatoes, jalapeños and chopped cilantro.
  3. Whisk dressing ingredients together in a smaller bowl until well combined.
  4. Pour dressing over avocado salsa and gently toss to evenly combine.
  5. Serve with tortilla chips.

Notes

  • For a kick of heat: Add red pepper flakes, red chili powder, or a pinch of cayenne.
  • Onions: I prefer red onions for their flavor and color in salads, but white onions work well in a pinch too!
