Avocado Sauce

Avocado Sauce blends ripe avocado with sour cream or yogurt, fresh garlic, lemon or lime juice, olive oil, and cilantro to create a creamy, tangy condiment. The sauce is smooth and bright, balancing richness with citrus notes, making it well suited for pairing with bold-flavored dishes. It keeps vibrant green in an airtight container for several days.

Description

This Avocado Sauce starts by combining ripe avocado with sour cream or yogurt, which adds creaminess along with the avocado's natural buttery texture. Fresh garlic and a generous amount of cilantro contribute herbal and sharp notes while lemon or lime juice adds brightness and a touch of acidity to cut through the richness.

The mixture is blended to a very smooth consistency with olive oil to help emulsify and add richness. Water may be added to adjust thickness depending on desired use. The sauce should have a slight tang, making it a suitable accompaniment for robust cuisine such as Mexican dishes.

Stored properly in an airtight container, the sauce remains green and fresh for up to four days. Season with salt and pepper to taste before serving, taking into account the saltiness of the paired food.

Adjust citrus to balance tanginess with the richness of the sauce.Keep refrigerated in an airtight container to maintain vibrant color for up to 4 days.
