Avocado Tzatziki Recipe
Description
This Avocado Tzatziki combines full-fat Greek yogurt and ripe avocado to produce a rich, creamy base. Freshly grated and drained cucumber adds moisture without watering down the dip. Minced garlic contributes pungency, while chopped coriander and mint provide herbaceous, fresh notes. Lime juice injects a slight tartness that balances the richness.
The ingredients are stirred together and can be served immediately, but resting in the refrigerator for at least 3–4 hours is recommended to allow the flavors to integrate fully. The dip has a smooth texture with a mild tang and herbal freshness.
Serve as a sauce with grilled meats, vegetables, or as a spread. The salt level can be adjusted to taste to enhance all flavors without overpowering the dip.
Ingredients
- 250 ml Greek yoghurt full fat
- 1 avocado roughly mashed with a fork
- 3 cucumber grated and strained from all excess liquid
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 3 tablespoon Coriander (cilantro) finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon mint freshly chopped
- ½ lime juiced
- 1 pinch salt sea salt
Instructions
- Combine all the ingredients above in a bowl and stir to combine evenly.
- For best results place in the fridge for 3-4 hours before serving. Otherwise, serve immediately
Notes
- Adjust the salt amount to personal preference to balance the flavors.
- Full-fat Greek yogurt is preferred for creaminess; lower-fat yogurts are less recommended.
