  • 1 pound Brussels sprouts
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste, ground
  • 1 pound Bacon cut in half
  • ½ cup maple syrup real
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar packed

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil and set aside.
  2. Trim the stem ends of 1 pound Brussels sprouts and add them to a medium bowl. Toss them with 1 tablespoon olive oil, and salt and ground black pepper to taste.
  3. Wrap each Brussels sprout with a half slice of the 1 pound bacon cut in half and secure with a toothpick. Lay them onto the baking sheet so they don't touch.
  4. In a small bowl whisk together ½ cup real maple syrup and 3 tablespoons packed brown sugar. Use a pastry brush to brush this over the tops of the Brussels sprouts.
  5. Bake for 30 minutes tossing them halfway through until the bacon is crisp and Brussels sprouts are tender. Remove immediately from the baking sheet and place them on a serving dish. Serve warm.
