Bacon Wrapped Green Bean Bundles
Description
This recipe uses thin, young green beans that are briefly steamed before being bundled into groups of five to six and wrapped with bacon halves. The bacon is partially cooked by sautéing, so it finishes crisping evenly in the oven. A butter-based sauce infused with brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and a hint of cayenne pepper is drizzled over each bundle before baking in a 9 x 13-inch dish.
Baking for about 10 to 15 minutes crisps the bacon and coats the beans in a sweet and savory glaze. Once out of the oven, the remaining sauce is drizzled over the bundles to enhance their flavor. These bundles serve well as a savory side dish combining green vegetable freshness with smoky, sweet bacon.
