Bacon Wrapped Scallops

Bacon Wrapped Scallops feature large sea scallops wrapped individually in bacon slices, brushed with a maple syrup and soy sauce glaze, and broiled until the bacon crisps and the scallops are cooked through. The combination provides a smoky, sweet, and savory flavor with a tender scallop center and crisp bacon exterior, garnished with chopped parsley.

Description

This recipe starts with large sea scallops patted dry, each wrapped tightly with half-slices of bacon secured by toothpicks. A glaze mixture of maple syrup, soy sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper is brushed onto the scallops before broiling. The broiling cooks the scallops and crisps the bacon while the glaze caramelizes, adding sweet and savory notes.

The cooking time under the broiler is about 10 to 15 minutes, with an additional glaze application halfway through to maximize flavor and gloss. The parsley garnish adds a fresh herbal finish that contrasts with the richness of bacon and scallops.

This makes an elegant appetizer or party dish. The combination of tender seafood with smoky, sticky bacon is distinctive. Serve immediately after broiling for best texture. The recipe uses common ingredients but the glaze adds a nice balance of flavors.
