Bacon Wrapped Smokies Recipes
Description
Bacon Wrapped Smokies Recipes feature beef little smokies wrapped in cold bacon slices and sprinkled with packed light brown sugar. The brown sugar caramelizes as the smokies bake, adding a touch of sweetness that complements the savory meat and crispy bacon. The smokies are baked at a moderate temperature until the bacon is cooked to preference, typically between 30–40 minutes. Wrapping each smokie individually allows the bacon to crisp evenly while keeping the center juicy.
The preparation includes securing the bacon with toothpicks and placing the wrapped smokies on a foil-lined baking sheet for an easy cleanup. The end result is a flavorful finger food with a mix of textures and a slightly sticky finish from the caramelized sugar.
This recipe can be prepared up to a day in advance up to the point before baking, allowing the flavors to meld and simplifying entertaining. For variations, adding spices to the brown sugar or topping with barbecue sauce after baking introduces additional flavor layers. Adding pineapple or jalapeño slices before wrapping introduces fruity or spicy notes.
