Baked Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal
Description
This baked oatmeal brings together quick oats mixed with brown sugar, cinnamon, and leavening agents, combined with a wet mixture of eggs, milk, applesauce, canola oil, and vanilla extract. The addition of diced apples inside the bake adds juiciness and natural sweetness, while the topping of sliced apples creates a fresh accent.
Baking at 350°F warms all ingredients through, allowing the custard to set and the oats to soften without becoming mushy. The result is a soft but structured oatmeal casserole with a lightly sweetened, cinnamon-infused flavor and comforting apple notes throughout.
To serve, the casserole is cut into squares and can be topped with honey or a drizzle of cream, enhancing moisture and sweetness. This dish is suitable as a filling breakfast or brunch option that can feed multiple people with simple, pantry-friendly ingredients.
