Baked Brie with Brown Sugar Hazelnuts
Description
This recipe begins by baking an 8-ounce Brie wheel in a moderate oven until just softened. While the cheese warms, hazelnuts are toasted to remove skins and then tossed in a quickly made brown sugar and water syrup on the stovetop until the sugar dissolves and bubbles. The warm syrup coats the nuts, creating a glossy, sweet exterior.
Once assembled, the warm Brie provides a soft and creamy center that contrasts nicely with the crunchy, caramelized hazelnuts. Fresh apples or crisp crackers offered alongside add a fresh, crisp component that complements the richness of the cheese and sweetness of the nuts.
The simple preparation highlights quality ingredients and careful timing to achieve warm, melty cheese with a sweet nut topping. It suits sharing as an appetizer or festive snack.
