Baked Brie with Jam
Description
Baked Brie with Jam is a dish where a whole Brie cheese wheel is partially peeled on top to expose the cheese, which is then topped with jam before baking. The removal of the rind on the top surface helps the cheese soften during baking so that it achieves a creamy texture inside while retaining its shape.
The recommended baking temperature of 400°F ensures the Brie becomes tender within 15 to 20 minutes depending on size, offering a warm and smooth consistency ideal for spreading. The topping of strawberry jam adds a balancing sweetness and fruity note to the mild, rich flavor of the cheese.
Once baked, the Brie can be served directly from the baking tray alongside crackers, bread, or fruit for scooping. This simple treat works well for casual entertaining or as an appetizer paired with wine. No additional steps or storage instructions are noted, so it is best enjoyed soon after baking to appreciate its soft texture.
Ingredients
- 300 grams Brie cheese
- 3 tablespoons strawberry jam or jam of choice
Instructions
- Heat the oven to 400°F.
- Place the wheel of brie onto a parchment-lined sheet pan.
- With a small paring knife, remove the rind from the top of the brie. I do so by carefully cutting a border and using a spoon to scrape the rind off. Then top the exposed brie cheese with jam.
- Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, depending on the size of your brie. The cheese round should be soft to the touch. Once done, serve with some crackers.
