Baked Broccoli Cheese Dip

Baked Broccoli Cheese Dip combines finely chopped broccoli with a creamy mixture of sour cream, mayonnaise, ricotta, cheddar, and mozzarella cheeses. Seasoned with onion salt, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt, the dip is baked until bubbly and golden on top. It offers a soft, creamy texture with melted cheese and tender broccoli, perfect for serving with toasted bread or sturdy chips.

Description

The Baked Broccoli Cheese Dip features finely chopped broccoli florets and some stalk that is briefly microwaved to brighten and soften. The vegetables are mixed with several cheeses—ricotta, cheddar, mozzarella—along with sour cream and mayonnaise, providing creamy richness. Seasoning with onion salt, garlic powder, black pepper, and additional salt enhances the savory flavor. Baking at 350°F yields a bubbling dip with golden edges and a melted cheese top, creating a smooth yet textured spread.

Serving the dip alongside toasted bread or sturdy chips offers contrasting textures, making it a satisfying appetizer or snack. The recipe balances fresh vegetable bite with rich cheeses for approachable indulgence.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 3 cups broccoli florets and some stalk, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 tsp onion salt
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper freshly ground
  • salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350F
  2. Put the broccoli in a large mixing bowl and microwave for 2 1/2 minutes. This will brighten the color and tenderize it just slightly.
  3. To the bowl with the broccoli stir in the rest of the ingredients, mixing really well to get everything evenly combined. Once combined, taste and adjust the seasonings, if necessary. I added a little salt.
  4. Spread the dip evenly into your baking pan.
  5. Bake for about 30 minutes or until bubbling around the edges and just starting to turn golden on top.
  6. Serve with toasted bread or sturdy chips.
