Baked Carrot Fries

Report
Baked Carrot Fries offer a healthier alternative to traditional fries, with carrot sticks coated lightly in corn starch, olive oil, and seasoning before baking to a tender yet slightly crispy texture. Fresh parsley adds a bright flavor finishing touch, making these fries a colorful and nutritious side dish or snack.

Description

This recipe transforms carrots into fries by peeling and slicing them into evenly sized sticks, then tossing them with corn starch to help achieve a crispy exterior, olive oil for moisture and browning, plus salt and pepper for seasoning. Baking them in a single layer ensures even cooking and crispiness over about 30-40 minutes, with a turn halfway through for uniform color.

The baked carrot fries develop a tender interior and lightly crisp edges without using deep frying, preserving natural sweetness and texture. Finishing with fresh chopped parsley adds a pop of herbaceous freshness.

These fries pair well with dips or as a side to main dishes. Adjusting thickness affects crispiness, with thinner cuts becoming crisper. Variations include mixing with sweet potatoes or adding grated Parmesan in the final minutes of baking for extra flavor and texture.
