Baked Cheesy Italian Chicken is an easy delicious chicken dinner recipe for chicken thighs smothered with cheesy goodness and marinara sauce.

Ingredients

  • 5 chicken thighs , boneless skinless
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper coarse ground
  • 1/2 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese , grated
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano dried
  • 1/2 teaspoon basil dried
  • 1/8 teaspoon red pepper flakes crushed
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese , shredded

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Season chicken thighs with salt and pepper and place in pan smooth side down.
  3. Mix ricotta cheeese, parmesan cheese, dried oregano, dried basil and red pepper flakes in a small bowl and spoon over each piece of chicken.
  4. Pour marinara sauce over the chicken and around it.
  5. Bake, covered for 30 minutes.
  6. Uncover, top with mozzarella cheese and bake an additional 15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and browned before serving.
