Baked Cheesy Ranch Zucchini

Baked Cheesy Ranch Zucchini features tender zucchini wedges coated with ranch seasoning, garlic powder, and a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese. The zucchini softens during baking while the cheese melts, creating a flavorful and slightly crispy side dish. Optional cayenne pepper adds a subtle heat to balance the richness of the cheese and herbs.

Description

Baked Cheesy Ranch Zucchini is prepared by cutting zucchini into long wedges seasoned with garlic powder, ranch seasoning, and optional cayenne pepper, then topped with grated Parmesan cheese. Baking at 375°F until tender allows the flavors to meld, while the cheese melts and forms a light crust. This method highlights the zucchini's natural moisture and mild flavor, complemented by the savory and mildly spicy seasoning blend. The final texture is tender with a slightly crispy, cheesy exterior set by the oven heat.

This dish can be served as a warm side to meats or as a vegetable accompaniment to casual meals. Its light seasoning and cheesy topping make it flexible for pairing with a variety of main courses and is suitable when a flavorful vegetable is desired.

Swapping Parmesan cheese for other cheeses like Monterey Jack or cheddar is possible, allowing flavor variation. Baking time of 10-15 minutes is enough to cook the zucchini through while melting the cheese without drying it out.
