Baked Chicken Breast
Description
Baked Chicken Breast features boneless, skinless chicken breasts evenly coated with melted butter and a brown sugar-spiced rub containing Italian seasoning, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. The brown sugar helps develop a caramelized exterior during baking.
Baking at 425°F for 18-20 minutes cooks the breasts thoroughly while promoting a slightly sweet and smoky crust. The finishing sprinkle of fresh parsley adds a fresh herb note and some color contrast.
Choosing chicken breasts of similar size ensures even cooking. Allowing the chicken to rest briefly after baking helps retain juices for a tender texture. This preparation suits straightforward family dinners served alongside vegetables, grains, or salads.
Avoid using overly thick chicken breasts, as they require longer cooking and may dry out.
Ingredients
- 4 chicken breast 4-5 ounces each, boneless skinless
- 3 butter melted
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons parsley chopped
- cooking spray
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. Coat a baking dish with cooking spray.
- Brush the butter all over both sides of the chicken.
- Place the brown sugar, salt, Italian seasoning, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder and black pepper in a bowl. Stir to combine.
- Rub the spice mixture all over both sides of the chicken breasts.

Notes
- Use chicken breasts of similar size for even cooking.
- Avoid overly thick breasts to prevent drying out.
- Let the chicken rest after baking to retain juices and improve tenderness.
