Baked Chicken Taquito Recipe

Baked Chicken Taquitos are corn tortillas filled with a seasoned blend of cooked shredded chicken, cheddar cheese, salsa, and spices, rolled tightly and baked until crisp. The dish offers a crunchy texture on the outside with a flavorful, moist filling. Lightly sprayed with olive oil before baking, they make a satisfying finger food or appetizer.

Description

This recipe assembles shredded chicken mixed with cheddar cheese, salsa, oregano, cumin, garlic salt with parsley, garlic pepper, and optional green chilies. The mixture is spooned onto warmed corn tortillas, which are rolled tightly, placed seam side down in a baking dish, and sprayed with olive oil. Baking at 350°F for 30 minutes crisps the exterior without frying.

Baked Chicken Taquitos present a crisp outer shell from corn tortillas and a seasoned, gooey filling combining melted cheese, tender chicken, and bright salsa notes. The spices create depth of flavor, while the optional green chilies add mild heat. Baking rather than frying promotes a lighter texture.

These taquitos are best served immediately to enjoy crisp texture. They can be part of a casual meal or served as an appetizer with dipping sauces. Warming the tortillas first makes them easier to roll without cracking.
