Baked Eggs

Baked Eggs are a hearty egg dish combining beaten eggs with pepper jack cheese, cottage cheese, and flour, baked until firm. The mixture creates a rich, dense casserole with cheesy, savory flavors and a soft texture. This dish can be cut into squares for serving and is suitable for breakfast, brunch, or a comforting meal component.

Description

The Baked Eggs recipe blends a large quantity of eggs with shredded pepper jack cheese, creamy cottage cheese, flour, and salt to form a thick batter. The inclusion of flour helps bind the mixture together during baking. The beaten eggs and cheeses contribute flavor and moisture, producing a custardy texture once baked.

After pouring into a buttered 9x13-inch pan, the dish bakes at 350°F until fully set, approximately 50 to 60 minutes. The finished product can be sliced into squares and served warm. It pairs well with fresh garnishes or condiments like salsa, sour cream, guacamole, tomatoes, or onions that add brightness and contrast.

This dish is adaptable to different shredded cheeses such as cheddar. The recipe can be halved for smaller servings, adjusting cooking time accordingly to about 30 to 40 minutes for a smaller pan.
