Baked Feta with Tomatoes

Report
Fresh cherry tomatoes and mixed olives bake alongside a generous block of feta cheese, drizzled with olive oil and sprinkled with oregano, creating a tangy, creamy, and savory dish. The tomatoes soften and release juices that mellow the feta's saltiness, while fresh basil adds a subtle aromatic finish. This warm, flavorful bake makes a practical appetizer or side, offering an easy way to blend simple Mediterranean ingredients into a comforting spread for bread or crackers.

Description

Baked Feta with Tomatoes combines mild, creamy feta cheese with juicy cherry tomatoes and briny mixed olives, enhanced by olive oil and dried oregano. The dish is baked at a moderate temperature until the cheese softens and the tomatoes burst, blending flavors into a rich, slightly tangy casserole. Fresh basil scattered before serving brightens the palate and adds a fresh herbal note.

The texture balances creamy, softened feta with gently roasted tomatoes and whole olives, resulting in a warm, spreadable dish. The baking method allows the flavors to meld without overcooking, preserving the distinctive taste of each ingredient.

Serve it warm as an appetizer with crusty bread or as a flavorful side dish. The combination of saltiness, acidity, and herbaceous freshness makes it a practical dish to accompany grilled meats or a light meal.

For variety, you can portion the dish in ramekins or add some red chili flakes before serving for heat. Using high-quality feta, not a generic salad cheese, will notably improve the flavor.
