Baked French Fries

Baked French Fries use russet potatoes cut into sticks, soaked in cold water, then coated with oil and savory spices including onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper before baking until golden and crisp. They offer a flavorful alternative to fried fries with a tender inside and crispy exterior.

Description

This baked French fries recipe starts by cutting russet potatoes into sticks and soaking them in cold water to remove excess starch, improving crispness when baking. After soaking, the potatoes are drained, dried, and tossed with neutral oil and a blend of spices such as onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.

The seasoned potatoes are spread in a single layer on a foil-lined sheet pan coated with cooking spray, then baked at 425°F until crisp and golden brown, typically 30-35 minutes. Fresh chopped parsley is sprinkled on top before serving, adding a touch of color and subtle herb flavor.

The result is fries with a crispy outside and tender inside, balancing savory seasoning with paprika’s mild smokiness. This oven-baking method provides a home-friendly approach to a classic snack or side dish without deep frying.
