Baked Goat Cheese Dip Recipe
Description
The Baked Goat Cheese Dip Recipe centers on blending Vermont Creamery goat cheese with cream cheese, Parmesan, and a touch of black pepper and olive oil. Pulsing these ingredients in a food processor creates a uniformly creamy base. Baking the dip in an oven-proof bowl until bubbly and slightly golden allows the flavors to meld and the texture to soften for easier spreading.
This dip works well as an appetizer or snack alongside crackers, fresh vegetables, or fruit slices. The mild tanginess of the goat cheese pairs nicely with the buttery richness of cream cheese and the nutty Parmesan, balanced slightly by pepper and olive oil.
For convenience, the mixture can be prepared in advance and chilled covered until baked just before serving to maintain warmth and adequate texture. Leftover dip spreads well on toast topped with roasted vegetables for another use.
Ingredients
- 8 ounces goat cheese Vermont Creamery
- 4 ounces cream cheese
- ¼ cup Parmesan Cheese grated
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper ground
- 2 tablespoons olive oil plus more for coating at the end
- 1 tablespoon chive minced
Instructions
- Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees. Place goat cheese, cream cheese, parmesan cheese, black pepper, and olive oil in the bowl of a food processor. Pulse a few times to break the goat cheese logs and then process until fully mixed, 30 seconds or so.
- Transfer to an oven-proof bowl. Smooth out the top with the back of a spoon and brush it with a little bit of (no more than ½ teaspoon) olive oil.
- Bake in the oven for 16-18 minutes or until it starts bubbling.
- Serve immediately with crackers, veggies, and fruits.
Notes
- You can substitute Parmesan with shredded cheddar cheese for a different flavor; use the same quantity.
- Prepare the dip mixture ahead of time, refrigerate covered, and bake before serving to enjoy it warm.
- Freezing this dip is not recommended as it may affect texture.
- Any leftovers can be used as a spread on toast, especially with roasted vegetable toppings.
