Baked Parmesan Garlic Herb Salmon in Foil
Description
This salmon recipe layers softened butter with minced garlic, Parmesan cheese, lemon juice, olive oil, and Italian herbs, creating a rich, aromatic topping that melts over the fish during baking. Wrapping the salmon in foil on a baking sheet locks in moisture, producing a dish with a delicate texture and infused flavors. Finishing under the broiler adds a golden-brown, savory crust from the Parmesan and garlic blend.
Prepared at 425°F for approximately 10 to 12 minutes, this method ensures the salmon is cooked through with a firm but tender interior. Serving suggestions can include garnishing with extra parsley and Parmesan for added freshness and visual appeal.
This technique is efficient and keeps cleanup simple by cooking in foil. Adjust the broil time to avoid burning the Parmesan topping if necessary.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds salmon type of salmon optional
- 4 tablespoons butter softened
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese grated
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons parsley chopped, fresh
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Cut a piece of foil long enough to fold up around the salmon. Place the foil on a baking sheet.
- In a small bowl, combine the softened 4 tablespoons butter, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, 1 tablespoon olive oil , 4 cloves garlic, 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon pepper, and 2 tablespoons fresh parsley,.
- Place the salmon skin side down on the foil. Gather the foil around the edges of the salmon, but do not cover the salmon completely. Spread the mixture evenly on top of the salmon.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the salmon is firm. Broil the top for the last 1-2 minutes to brown.
- Remove from the oven and garnish with additional chopped parsley and parmesan cheese if desired.
Notes
- Broil briefly at the end to brown the Parmesan topping without overcooking the salmon.
- Use fresh garlic and grated Parmesan for best flavor and texture.
- Cooking time may vary slightly depending on salmon thickness; test for firm, flaky flesh.
