Baked Pork Chops and Rice
Description
This recipe starts with cooking rice according to package directions while browning pork chops in oil to develop a seared exterior. The browned chops are arranged over the rice in a baking dish, topped with sliced onions seasoned with salt, then covered with a blend of cream of tomato soup and water to provide moisture and gentle acidity.
Baked at 350°F for approximately 1.5 hours with a cover, the dish allows pork chops to finish cooking while infusing the rice below with tomato flavor and onion aroma. The texture becomes tender throughout with a mild tomato-based sauce binding the components.
This one-dish meal balances protein, starch, and vegetables in a straightforward preparation suited for a family dinner.
