Baked Pork Chops with Dijon Cream Sauce

Baked Pork Chops with Dijon Cream Sauce offers juicy pork chops seared before baking in a creamy mustard sauce. The sauce combines garlic, chicken broth, Dijon mustard, and cream for a rich, flavorful coating. This dish balances a tender, well-seasoned pork chop with a smooth, tangy sauce that enhances its natural flavors. Ideal for a comforting dinner, the sauce is spooned over pork chops before and after baking to ensure moisture and taste. The recipe includes tips for using thick boneless chops for optimal juiciness.

Description

Baked Pork Chops with Dijon Cream Sauce features pork chops generously seasoned and seared in butter and oil to develop a golden crust. The Dijon cream sauce is prepared in the same pan, starting with sautéed garlic, followed by simmering chicken broth, Dijon mustard, and heavy cream to build a rich and tangy sauce. The pork chops return to the pan coated in sauce and finish cooking in the oven, allowing the flavors to meld and the sauce to thicken. The finished chops are tender with a flavorful crust, complemented by the creamy, mustard-spiked sauce.

This recipe suits a main course served alongside vegetables, rice, or potatoes, offering a satisfying combination of protein and sauce. The sauce's creaminess and mild sharpness from the Dijon mustard add an elegant touch to the pork chops, making this a suitable dish for everyday meals or small gatherings.

Using thick boneless pork chops helps retain moisture throughout cooking, while thinner chops require careful timing to avoid overcooking. Spoon extra sauce from the pan over the chops before serving to maximize flavor and juiciness.
