Baked Ranch Pork Tenderloin in Gravy

This recipe for Baked Ranch Pork Tenderloin in Gravy features a seasoned, browned pork tenderloin baked in a foil pouch with a lemon and ranch dressing mix gravy. The method locks in moisture while infusing the pork with a tangy, herby sauce, resulting in tender meat with a flavorful coating. It uses simple seasonings and a smoky ranch flavor mix to enhance the mild pork.

Description

The Baked Ranch Pork Tenderloin preparation begins by seasoning the pork with salt and pepper and browning it on all sides in olive oil to develop a caramelized crust. Meanwhile, a gravy is made by melting butter and mixing it with ranch dressing seasoning and fresh lemon juice to create a tangy, creamy sauce. The pork is then placed into a foil pouch on a baking sheet, drizzled with the ranch gravy, and sealed for baking.

Baking at 375°F for about 30 minutes finishes cooking the pork gently while sealing in juices and allowing the flavors from the gravy to penetrate the meat. The pork is rested after baking to allow carryover cooking and redistribute juices for tenderness. The finished dish is garnished with fresh cilantro or parsley, adding brightness.

This straightforward method yields a juicy tenderloin with a ranch-flavored sauce, suitable for serving as a main course alongside vegetables, grains, or salads.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 1 tsp salt sea salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper fresh cracked
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 lb pork tenderloin
  • 1 oz Ranch dressing mix packet
  • 4 oz butter
  • 1 lemon juice
  • ¼ cup cilantro to garnish, or parsley

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. If grilling, turn gas grill to high or start charcoal and heat until grill is 375 degrees.
  2. Generously season pork tenderloin with salt and pepper. (UNLESS YOUR PORK IS PRE-BRINED OR DRY BRINED. DO NOT ADD EXTRA SALT IF IT IS.)
  3. In a large, heavy pan, heat olive oil until it is shimmery.
  4. Brown pork tenderloin on all sides - about 2-3 minutes per side.
  5. While pork browns, make gravy by combining melted butter, ranch dressing mix packet, and the juice of one lemon. Stir well to dissolve ranch dressing packet powder.
  6. Lay a sheet of foil on a baking sheet and place pork tenderloin in pouch.
  7. Drizzle ranch dressing gravy over pork tenderloin.
  8. Close foil pouch and bake for 30 minutes, checking temperature with a digital meat thermometer at about 25 minutes.
  9. When pork has reached 145 degrees internal temperature, remove from oven, keeping foil pouch closed.
  10. Let rest for at least 10 minutes to continue carryover cooking to the newly recommended 150 degrees internal temperature for pork.
  11. Garnish with cilantro, parsley, or green onions.
  12. Slice into thin slices and serve immediately or store in an airtight container for lunch meal prep.
