Baked Teriyaki Salmon (Crazy Easy)
Description
This Baked Teriyaki Salmon starts with slicing salmon fillet into portions that marinate briefly in a sauce combining teriyaki, sesame oil, ginger, soy sauce, brown sugar, and rice vinegar. The marinade imparts a well-rounded umami flavor with a subtle tang from the vinegar and warmth from fresh ginger. The salmon is baked at 415°F on foil-lined baking sheets, which helps cook it evenly while maintaining moisture. The internal temperature target of 130°F ensures the fish stays tender without overcooking.
While the salmon bakes, the remaining marinade is simmered into a glaze that is brushed over the cooked fish to heighten the flavor and provide a shiny finish. The result is moist, flaky salmon with a sweet and savory coating that highlights the natural richness of the fish.
This dish is ready to serve immediately, optionally garnished with chopped chives or green onions for freshness. It pairs well with steamed vegetables or rice to complement the flavors.
Ingredients
- 1 lb salmon filet
- 1 tbsp teriyaki sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp ginger fresh, grated
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 1/2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1/2 tbsp rice vinegar
Instructions
- Slice the salmon into 3-inch pieces. Place the pieces in a large bowl or a plastic storage bag.
- In a small bowl, whisk the teriyaki sauce, sesame oil, grated ginger, soy sauce, brown sugar, and rice vinegar.
- Pour half of the sauce over the salmon pieces and let them marinate for 15 minutes in the refrigerator.
- Preheat the oven to 415°F. Line baking sheet with foil and place the marinated salmon on top, leaving an inch or so space between each one. Bake the salmon for 8-10 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 130°F.
- While the salmon is baking, add the remaining sauce into a pan and let it simmer for 2 minutes. Remove the pan from heat and set it aside.
- Remove the baked salmon from the oven and brush it with the sauce. Optionally, garnish it with chopped chives or green onions. Enjoy!
