Baked Tilapia Recipe
Description
The recipe uses two tilapia fillets seasoned evenly on both sides with thyme, paprika, sea salt, and black pepper. They are placed in a baking dish and topped with minced garlic, melted butter, and fresh lemon juice. This combination infuses a subtle herb and smoky paprika flavor with a creamy, citrusy butter sauce during baking.
Baking at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 to 11 minutes makes the fish tender and flaky. The doneness is tested by inserting a fork into the center and gently twisting; if the fish flakes easily, it is fully cooked. The lemon wedges garnish adds a bright touch to each serving.
This simple baked fish works well for a quick, light meal and can be paired with vegetables, rice, or potatoes. Adjusting the seasoning allows tailoring the flavor profile to personal taste.
Fresh tilapia is preferred for best texture and flavor, while frozen fillets should be thawed completely before cooking. Leftovers can be refrigerated safely for up to four days.
Ingredients
- 2 tilapia fillets

- ½ tsp paprika
- pinch salt sea salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
