Bakery Style Chocolate Chip Cookies

Bakery Style Chocolate Chip Cookies combine bread and cake flours with both baking soda and baking powder for a balanced texture. The dough is rich with butter, brown and white sugars, eggs, and vanilla, mixed with a generous amount of dark chocolate chips and chunks. Refrigerating the dough for 24-36 hours before baking results in cookies with a tender center and slightly crispy edges, emulating bakery standards.

Description

These Bakery Style Chocolate Chip Cookies use a mix of bread and cake flours alongside leavening agents to develop a chewy yet tender crumb. The softened salted butter with brown and white sugars creates a rich, caramelized sweetness complemented by the depth of dark chocolate pieces. The recipe instructs to chill the dough for at least 24 hours, allowing flavors to meld and improving texture when baked.

Baked at 350°F, large scoops of dough produce generously sized cookies with a balanced crispy edge and moist center, resembling quality bakery cookies. The combination of finely chopped and chip-sized dark chocolate intensifies the chocolate presence throughout each bite. A sprinkle of sea salt on top enhances the flavor contrast.

This recipe yields approximately 30 cookies, making it suitable for sharing or storing. Careful measurement and chilling contribute to consistent results that bring home bakery-style indulgence.

Instructions

  1. *Plan ahead! This cookie dough needs to sit in the refrigerator at least 24 hours before baking.

  3. Using a stand mixer with the paddle attachment, cream together the butter and sugars. Add in the eggs and vanilla, mixing until well combined. 1 1/4 cups salted butter, 1 1/4 cups light brown sugar, 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons white granulated sugar, 2 large eggs, 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

  7. Take a glass cup, get the base of the cup wet with water, then dip the cup in granulated sugar. Use the base of the cup to press lightly down on the top of the cookie dough balls.
