Balsamic BBQ Sauce

This Balsamic BBQ Sauce uses balsamic vinegar combined with ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, and spices to create a tangy, slightly sweet BBQ sauce. The sauce simmers until thick and glossy, making it suitable for glazing grilled meats or as a dipping sauce with a depth of flavor from the balsamic vinegar.

Description

Balsamic BBQ Sauce blends balsamic vinegar with ketchup, light brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, garlic, and spices including salt, black pepper, and cayenne. The mixture is whisked together and heated to boiling, then simmered on low heat for 15-20 minutes until it thickens and develops a glossy consistency.

The balsamic vinegar provides a tart and slightly sweet acidity, balancing the richness of ketchup and the caramel notes from brown sugar. The garlic and mustard add savory and sharp undertones, while cayenne pepper brings gentle heat. This sauce can be served on grilled meats or vegetables, or used as a dipping sauce to add a sweet and tangy layer of flavor.

The recipe yields approximately 2 cups of sauce, allowing flexibility in portioning for individual meals or gatherings.
