Balsamic Brussel Sprouts

Balsamic Brussel Sprouts are halved sprouts tossed in olive oil, balsamic vinegar, honey, garlic, salt, and pepper, then roasted until tender and caramelized. The roasting produces a golden exterior with a sweet and tangy coating, balancing bitterness and sweetness in this warm vegetable side dish.

Description

This recipe trims and halves fresh Brussels sprouts before coating them thoroughly with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, honey, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. The use of balsamic vinegar combined with honey creates a glaze that lightly caramelizes during high-heat roasting at 450°F. Stirring once halfway through ensures even cooking and browning.

The result is sprouts that are soft on the inside but have golden, crisped edges with a complex sweet and tangy flavor profile. The garlic adds aroma and depth, while salt and pepper season throughout. These sprouts balance natural bitterness with roasted sweetness.

They are served warm as a side dish and would pair well with roasted meats or other hearty mains. The straightforward preparation emphasizes texture and vibrant flavor.
