Balsamic Glazed Brussel Sprouts

Balsamic Glazed Brussel Sprouts combine tender roasted sprouts and garlic with a splash of balsamic vinegar and olive oil, finished with shredded Parmesan. Roasting at high heat caramelizes the edges, while the garlic and balsamic add depth and a mild tang. This recipe creates a warm side dish exhibiting a fine balance between slight bitterness and acidity, enhanced by the umami of Parmesan. It works well alongside roasted meats or as a hearty vegetable addition to a weeknight meal.

Description

Balsamic Glazed Brussel Sprouts highlight halved Brussels sprouts roasted until tender and lightly caramelized. Tossed with whole garlic cloves and olive oil, the baking process softens the garlic flavor and melds it with the sprouts. The addition of balsamic vinegar before roasting introduces a subtle acidity that balances the natural bitterness and brings brightness to the dish. Sprinkled with shredded Parmesan cheese, it adds a savory, salty finish.

The roasting temperature of 425°F and the periodic stirring ensure even cooking and a golden, slightly crispy texture on the edges while keeping the interiors soft. Broiling briefly at the end intensifies the caramelization without overcooking. This recipe is straightforward in preparation but yields a flavorful vegetable side that complements rich or roasted main dishes.
