Banana Nut Bread

Banana Nut Bread is a moist, tender quick bread made from ripe bananas, melted butter, sugar, eggs, and sour cream, with chopped walnuts mixed into the batter. It delivers a pleasantly sweet flavor with nutty crunch and a soft crumb, baked in a loaf pan and perfect for breakfast or snacks.

Description

This Banana Nut Bread recipe blends melted butter with sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract before incorporating sour cream and mashed ripe bananas to maintain moistness and add richness. The dry ingredients—flour, baking soda, and salt—are combined with chopped walnuts and folded gently into the wet mixture to form a smooth batter. The use of chopped walnuts, instead of large halves, provides a crunchy texture dispersed throughout.

The batter is poured into a prepared 9x5 loaf pan and baked at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about 60 minutes or until a skewer inserted comes out clean, ensuring a fully baked and tender loaf with a light crust. The resulting bread has a soft crumb and nut-studded interior with a balanced sweet-banana flavor heightened by the vanilla.

This bread slices well for serving plain or with butter and can be enjoyed fresh or stored for several days. The note on chopping walnuts to medium size enhances texture without overwhelming the bite.
