Bang Bang Brussels Sprouts

Bang Bang Brussels Sprouts roast halved sprouts coated in olive oil and seasonings, finished with a creamy, spicy bang bang sauce made of mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, and chili garlic paste. Roasting caramelizes the Brussels sprouts, offering a tender center with crisp edges, while the sauce adds a balance of spicy, sweet, and tangy flavors. This dish can be served as a flavorful side or appetizer with a fresh kick.

Description

The Bang Bang Brussels Sprouts recipe first prepares the sprouts by trimming stems and halving them, ensuring even roasting. Tossed thoroughly with olive oil, kosher salt, black pepper, and garlic powder, the sprouts are spread evenly on a baking sheet and roasted at a high temperature to develop crispy outer leaves while maintaining a tender interior. Twice tossing during roasting promotes even browning.

The sauce combines mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, and chili garlic paste for a creamy, spicy complement. Thinly sliced green onions add freshness and texture, sprinkled over the sauce and/or sprouts for garnish. Drizzling this sauce over the hot sprouts or serving it as a dipping sauce provides layers of flavor and slight heat.

This preparation works well as an appetizer, snack, or side dish alongside grilled or roasted proteins. The mix of textures and bold flavors enhance the usually mild Brussels sprouts into a dish with character and appeal.
