BBQ Chicken
Description
BBQ Chicken combines the simplicity of seasoned chicken pieces with the rich taste of barbecue sauce applied during cooking. The recipe offers two cooking approaches: grilling over medium heat or baking at 425 degrees F followed by broiling. Both methods involve oiling and seasoning the chicken before cooking it to proper doneness, which helps render the skin crisp and develop a deep, saucy glaze. Brushing the BBQ sauce in stages allows the sauce to caramelize without burning, delivering balanced flavor and a sticky coating.
The chicken develops a tender texture inside while maintaining flavorful, slightly crispy skin on the outside, making it appealing for a summer cookout or a hearty dinner. The timing for turning and saucing ensures even cooking and flavor penetration.
Resting the chicken after cooking lets the juices redistribute, helping keep it moist when served. This BBQ Chicken pairs well with classic sides like coleslaw, baked beans, or cornbread.
