Ingredients

Servings
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 pound ground pork
  • 1/2 cup onion finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup BBQ sauce plus more for glazing

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil lightly greased. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, chili powder, salt, black pepper, panko breadcrumbs, and 1/4 cup of BBQ sauce. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  2. Shape the mixture into meatballs, about 1 to 1 1/2 inches in diameter, and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until they are cooked through and no longer pink in the center.
  4. Remove the meatballs from the oven and increase the oven temperature to 425°F (220°C).
  5. Brush the meatballs generously with additional BBQ sauce, ensuring they are coated evenly.
  6. Return the meatballs to the oven and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the glaze is sticky and caramelized.
  7. Remove the meatballs from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped green onions if desired.
  8. Serve the BBQ glazed meatballs as an appetizer or as part of a main course. They are great on their own, with toothpicks for easy grabbing, or served with a side of coleslaw or cornbread for a complete meal. Enjoy!
