BBQ Sloppy Joes Recipe

Report
BBQ Sloppy Joes feature ground beef cooked with finely chopped onion and red bell pepper in a sauce made from barbecue sauce, ketchup, and water. The mixture is simmered until flavors blend and served on hamburger buns topped with shredded cheddar cheese for a hearty, savory sandwich. The barbecue sauce provides a smoky, tangy base that complements the beef's richness.

Description

This BBQ Sloppy Joes recipe starts by browning ground beef and draining excess fat. Finely chopped onions and red bell peppers are then sautéed with the beef, softening before adding seasonings and sauces. Barbecue sauce and ketchup create a tangy, slightly sweet sauce along with a bit of water to adjust consistency. The mixture simmers uncovered to concentrate its flavors and thicken slightly. The finished sloppy joe filling is served hot on hamburger buns and topped with shredded cheddar cheese, which melts slightly from the warm filling, adding creamy texture and sharpness.

This sandwich works well for casual meals and is adaptable with different barbecue sauces to suit personal tastes. It provides a filling, comforting dish that balances savory, sweet, and smoky notes.

The notes suggest choosing a preferred barbecue sauce to customize the flavor according to individual preference.
