Beef Curry Puffs

Beef Curry Puffs consist of puff pastry squares filled with a spicy beef mixture seasoned with curry powder, garam masala, and other spices, then baked until golden and flaky. The moist, flavorful filling contrasts with the crisp pastry, making them a warm, savory snack or appetizer.

Description

The recipe starts by browning ground beef with diced onion and garlic. Spices including curry powder, garam masala, cayenne, and garlic powder add warmth and depth. A touch of sugar balances the heat, while soy sauce and beef stock contribute umami and moisture. The mixture is thickened with a cornstarch slurry to prevent sogginess inside the pastry.

Puff pastry squares are filled with the thickened beef curry, folded, sealed by pressing with a fork, then brushed with beaten egg to encourage browning. Baking at 400°F creates golden, flaky pastries with a savory, spiced beef interior.

This preparation suits casual gatherings or as finger food, providing a substantial, flavorful bite. They are best served warm straight from the oven.
